Dr. Shaun Sigurdson, DDS
Dr. Shaun Sigurdson was born in Great Yarmouth, England. He lived in Anchorage, AK, before moving to Texas with his family at the age of seven. Dr. Sigurdson considers Texas to be his home, which is why he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Texas in Austin.
After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Sigurdson went to dental school in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.), Dr. Sigurdson moved to Dallas where he completed his residency for Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Baylor College of Dentistry.
After completing his residency, Dr. Sigurdson served as a full-time faculty member at Baylor’s Advanced General Dentistry clinic. During this time, he was selected for a highly sought-after Fellowship in advanced restorative, aesthetic, and implant dentistry.
As a Lakewood family dentist, Dr. Sigurdson enjoys delivering comprehensive treatments that enhance his patient’s oral health and boost their confidence. His expertise in cosmetic dentistry makes him a leader in complex restorative treatments, including dental implant surgery and full-mouth rehabilitation.
Dr. Sigurdson believes that one should never stop learning, which is why he frequently seeks continuing education courses to improve his skills in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, and implantology. He is also a member of many respected organizations, including the American Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Aside from providing exceptional dental care, Dr. Sigurdson enjoys attending concerts and sporting events, hunting, weight training, and spending time with his dog, Jacks, and his wife, Cristina.
Dr. Mihir Patel, DDS
Born in London, England, Dr. Mihir Patel moved to Garland, TX with his family at the age of one. As a child, Dr. Patel had a bike accident that resulted in a chipped front tooth. A dentist was able to seamlessly repair his tooth, which sparked his interest in the art and science of dentistry.
Dr. Patel pursued a biology degree from Texas A&M where he graduated magna cum laude in 2011. He then went on to earn his D.D.S. in Dallas, TX, from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He earned a spot on the Dean’s Cumulative Honor List and graduated in 2015. He then continued his education at Baylor College of Dentistry, earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate in 2016.
As a Lakewood dentist, Dr. Patel believes that dental care should be comprehensive, conservative, and evidence-based. He also believes that excellent dental care should be accessible to patients from all backgrounds. This belief is what drives Dr. Patel to pursue frequent volunteer opportunities to serve the Dallas community.
In addition to volunteering his time and talent, Dr. Patel pursues continuing education courses to refine his abilities in endodontics, aesthetic dentistry, and implant surgery. He is also a member of several organizations, including the American Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Dallas Study Club.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, home improvement and renovation projects, and spending time with his wife, Ankita, and Maltese poodle, Peanut.
